Kalinaw News: 73IB discovered an arms cache

Malapatan, Sarangani – Troops of the 73rd Infantry Battalion discovered an arms cache at Sitio Salyan, Brgy Sapu Masla of the said municipality yesterday, March 28, 2020, at around 0500H.

Acting on information extracted during the follow-up custodial debriefing of Marcko Simon @Tarzan, one (1) section of operating troops successfully located the arms cache. The said section unearthed a total of 490 rounds of M14 ammunition belonging to the WGF TALA, FSMR, which was stored by @Yoyong in the area last December 2019.

Lt Col. Ronald G Valdez, Commander of the 73IB, lauded Former Rebels in helping the unit fulfill its mission to maintain peace and order in its area of operation. “With the help of the FRs, we located the NPA arms cache which they can use in conducting atrocities, especially this NPA Anniversary. We, the 73IB, will ensure the safety and security of the people always.” Lt Col Valdez ended.

@Tarzan, who surrendered to the unit last February 27, 2020, was also responsible for locating an arms cache that yielded one (1) AK47 and two M16 rifles on February 29, 2020.
