The Philippine Navy (PN) will honor 38 of its personnel on Monday in a recognition dinner for their participation in 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games last November 30 to December 11, 2019.
Lt. Commander Maria Christina Roxas, PN public affairs office chief, said the event will be held at Acero Hall, Naval Station Jose Francisco, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City at around 6 p.m.
She added that the 38 PN athletes participated in several sporting categories.
A total of 160 soldier-athletes joined 30th SEA Games where the country sent a 1,115-strong delegation.
These Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel contributed 54 medals for the Philippine delegation : 26 gold, 15 silver, and 13 bronze medals and came from arnis, athletics, baseball, boxing, cycling, kurash (judo), Muay Thai obstacle course racing, rowing, sailing, sepak takraw, shooting, softball, soft tennis, taekwondo, water polo, weightlifting, and wrestling events.
The Philippines was declared overall champion after winning 149 gold, 117 silver and 121 bronze medals in 56 sporting events.
