CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Jan. 15 (PIA)--Commemorating the triumphs in obtaining sustainable peace and development in Northern Mindanao and CARAGA regions, the Barrio Peace-Ta sa Kampo underscores the Fourth Infantry Division’s 50th Founding Anniversary, January 15.

MGen Franco Nemesio Gacal, 4ID commander, said the Barrio Peace-Ta sa Kampo is the military's way to contribute to the socio-economic activity in the region by displaying local delicacies and featuring places to visit throughout the region.
Such event is also a celebration of heritage highlighting the importance of "barrio" and "bayanihan" in a community shown in the coordination of soldiers and the community they serve, Gacal added.
The culture-rooted Barrio Peace-Ta sa Kampo highlights an open-street activity including the Tiangge that will run for three weeks, January 15- February 5. Booths are open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM for soldiers, dependents, partner stakeholders, and civilian local populace.

“We are blessed that 4ID covered Northern Mindanao dahil ang gagaling ng ating mga commanders (because our commanders are good). Malaking tulong ang national defense (the national defense helps us a lot); serving the people and securing the land. We would not be where we now kung wala ang armed forces (if the armed forces are not around),” Mayor Oscar Moreno said.

The 4ID prepared series of events to celebrate the years of successful convergence of efforts with regional line agencies and partner stakeholders in bracing generally peaceful and progressive region.
The activities include the Night Café that goes along with live bands playing nightly from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Camp Evangelista, here, Baylehan or benefit dances done every Saturday night, fun run, fashion show, and more. (RTP/PIA10)
