TINOC, Ifugao, Jan. 16 (PIA) - - The Militia ng Bayan (MB) member here has surrendered to authorities to have a peaceful life.

Aka Lando submitted himself to the Tinoc Municipal Police Station with a rifle grenade. He admitted being a supporter of the New People’s Army (NPA) particularly the Nona Del Rosario Command operating in the area.

The Tinoc MPS reported that he allowed his house to be used by the NPAs as meeting place and temporary storage of food stuff, firearms, ammunitions and other logistical equipment

“He decided to surrender to clear his name and to end his ties with the communist terrorist and live a normal life free from disturbance,” the report stated.

The surrender of Lando is the result of the intensified and continuous conduct of information campaign on anti-terrorism, the whole of nation approach to end local communist armed conflict by various government and other partners in the community.

“During our information drive, we include also the benefits of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) to encourage members of CPP/NPA and MBs to surrender to the government to sustain peace and order in the community,” the Tinoc MPS stated.

Police authorities lauded Lando on his decision to surrender and thanked the people who have helped in making this possible. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
