COMMENT ON THE ILLNESSES OF DUTERTE AND HIS GRAVE DISSERVICE TO THE PEOPLE (By Jose Maria Sison)
I am glad that Duterte admits what has become undeniable, his serious illnesses, long absences and failure to appear on important occasions and sessions even during international meetings. These illnesses take a toll on his mental and working capacity.
My friendly advice to him is to resign, receive sustained medical treatment and take a long rest. This is the best service that he can render to the people now. It is grave disservice to the people that he insists on staying in his position and is limited to making occasional psywar antics with regard to his bogus war on drugs and his futile war against the revolutionary movement and the people.
The people see through his rabid anti-communism as a bloody anti-people and anti-democratic effort to perpetuate the ruling system dominated by imperialism, feudalism and bureaucratic capitalism. These are the current big problems that inflict oppression and exploitation on the people. It is foolish for him to bark at the far future of communism and try to obscure the people’s current demand for national liberation and democracy.
He will always fail to destroy the people’s revolutionary movement and aspirations for full national independence, democracy, social justice, genuine development through national industrialization and land reform, expanded social services and just peace. Neither socialism nor communism is in the immediate agenda of the Communist Party of the Philippines.###
