TACLOBAN CITY, Nov. 19 (PIA) -- Members of the private media coming from the six provinces in the Eastern Visayas Region have converged in this city with the common objective in mind- to help the government in the strategic communication campaign versus the insurgents' propaganda.
PIA Regional Director Erlinda Olivia P. Tiu, head of the Strategic Communication Cluster in Eastern Visayas, emphasized in her opening remarks that the convergence of media practitioners in the region "seeks to find collaboration and unity" as a way of intensifying community advocacy.
"The Stratcom cluster identifies challenges to win the hearts and minds of the Filipino masses," Tiu said and adding this can be done by effectively countering propaganda against the masses.

She also called on the EV media practitioners attending the Region 8 Media Briefing on EO 70 held at Hotel Alejandro in Tacloban City on November 19, to always tell the truth and that both sides of the issue is taken of.
RD Tiu reported that the EV Regional Development Council and the Regional Peace and Order Council, have jointly passed a resolution in June this year in support to EO 70 institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation-Approach creating the Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) to attain a "just and lasting peace."
The lady regional communication's chief also pointed out that attaining a just and lasting peace is one of the 10 socio-economic indicators geared towards realizing the the Ambisyon Natin 2040.
In closing, the StratCom cluster chief left a strong reminders to media to "tell the truth and shame the devil." (PIA-8/Biliran)
