CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao – Troops of the 37IB seized a New People’s Army (NPA) encampment at Sitio Kuden, Brgy Batang Bagras in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat last Saturday, November 16, 2019 while conducting combat operations.
The troops were also able to recover an arms cache of assorted firearms in the encampment.
Recovered in the said camp were one Colt M16 rifle, 1 Bushmaster M16 rifle, one improvised M79 and one .22 caliber rifle.
“I commend the troops for their successful recovery of these war materiel as well as the communities for their full support to our governments’ thrust to end this decades long insurgency. Our efforts to end this cycle of tyranny of the NPA that is hampering our nation’s progress will not stop until this terrorist group is eradicated in JTFC AO. Major General Diosdado C. Carreon, Joint Task Force Central Commander said.
