BORONGAN CITY, Nov. 13 (PIA)—Arteche town is deeply mourning the loss of a government soldier who died in the hands of the insurgents in an encounter on November 11, 2019 at Sitio Bangon, Barangay Pinanag-an, Borongan City.
"Sobra nga kasub'anan an amon gin-aabat han hiupod han unom nga 'killed-in-action' an usa nga Artechehanon," (We are mourning the death of one of our people.) Arteche Mayor Roland Boie Evardone said in a statement as he strongly condemned the NPAs for killing one Artechanon soldier.
In the government troops and NPA encounter one true bloodied Artechehanon PFC Kent Lloyd M. Agullo was slain along with five fellow soldiers from the 14th Infantry Battalion.
"Kent Lloyd is a son, a brother, a friend, a hero and a proud Artechehanon, until his last breath he made us proud to be an Artechehanon,"said Evardone.
At the same time, Evardone reached out to the families of the five peers of Agullo in their time of sorrow.
"We deeply condemn and stand with our decision to declare the CCP-NPA as persona non grata."
The mayor also extended his deep sympathy to the families of the slain soldiers, "Ha bug-os nga pamilya han 14th IB, our salute and gratitude for your heroism." (To the 14th IB, we salute your heroism.)
