ZAMBOANGA CITY -- A team of police and military personnel arrested an alleged kidnap-for-ransom-group (KFRG) member and his female companion and seized a firearms cache in a pre-dawn raid in this city, the police here said Friday.
Police identified the arrested suspects as Saribin Jamilon alias Renato Miñez, an alleged KFRG member, and his companion, Sarah Leila Akbar Jamilon.
Armed with a search warrant, government forces raided the suspects’ hideout around 2 a.m. Friday in Don Toribio Street, Barangay Tetuan, this city, police said.
The Jamilons yielded a fragmentation grenade, rifle grenade, two 7.62-millimeter rifles, and other firearms and ammunition, police said.
The suspects were taken to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for documentation and proper disposition, police said. (PNA)
