Talaingod, Davao del Norte – The 56th Infantry “Tatag” Battalion, Philippine Army under the leadership of LTC NORMAN E VALDEZ INF (GSC) PA, Battalion Commander in cooperation with the Local Government Unit and agencies of Talaingod culminated the Community Support Program (CSP) in Sitio Naputkalan, Brgy Sto Niño, Talaingod, Davao del Norte today, October 01, 2019.

The 56IB deployed CSP team in Sitio Naputkalan on June 21, 2019 to identify primary issues and concerns of the lumad community and address such issues thru the covergence of the local goverment under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

The deployment of CSP team is one way of bringing the government closer to the people, particularly in those areas where government services seldom reach the people.

The culmination was highlighted by a dialogue with the community that discussed the efforts of the different agencies in making Sitio Naputkalan a peaceful and conflict-resilient community.

CPT JOHN LOUIE S DEMA-ALA, CMO Officer of 56IB in his speech said that, “Hindi ito ang katapusan ngunit ito lamang ay isang hakbang natin na magsisilbi o maituturing natin na simula ng ating pagkakaisa para sa pagkamit natin sa mapayapa at maunlad na Naputkalan. Ang inyong kasundaluhan sa 56th IB ay hinding-hindi magsasawang maging tulay ninyo upang iparating sa kinauukulan ang inyong mga magandang ninanais tungo sa ikabubuti ng nakararami at nang ating komunidad”.

Ltc Valdez expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government Office of Davao del Norte, LGU Talaingod, DepEd, DSWD, MAGRO, Talaingod MPS, NGOs and other stakeholders of Talaingod for their trust and support to the CSP Team deployed in Sitio Naputkalan.

The CSP is in line with the Development Support and Security Plan “KAPAYAPAAN” of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to conduct Development Support Operations, sustain the peace, ensure security and help maintain public order to foster the foundation for economic and human development.
