Posted  to the Western Mindanao Command  (WESTMINCOM) Website (Sep 9, 2019): WestMinCom delivers basic services to Zamboangueños

Military troops handed over food packages and other supplies to residents of Sitio Mananang in Barangay Bolong, Zamboanga City yesterday morning, September 8.

The Western Mindanao Command’s Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Civil-Military Operations distributed the food packs, used clothes, and other supplies to 30 less privileged families in the barangay.

“Help will always be extended by the armed forces to the Filipinos, especially to the underprivileged, as we remain the armed forces you can trust in this campaign for growth and stability in Mindanao,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of Western Mindanao Command.

Soldiers also visited the site of the masjid currently being constructed by troops and civilians in said sitio. Through Brigada Masjid, the Marine Battalion Landing Team-11 and the Erth-Ul Mustafa Organization commenced the construction of said masjid on August 14, 2019.

“This construction of a masjid underscores the value we place on religion and the respect we accord of the disparity. We want to foster a culture of harmony rather than of violence by bringing people with different beliefs together,” added Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
