From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 12, 2019): MisOr town declares NPA 'persona non-grata'

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- There are now five towns in the province of Misamis Oriental that have declared the communist New People's Army (NPA) as "persona non-grata".

This came after the municipality of Laguindingan issued a resolution denouncing the alleged atrocities committed by the NPA and its political umbrella organization, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).
Based on the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) Resolution DTO-02, Laguindangan town condemned the CPP-NPA as "terrorists" who are "disturbing the minds of the people of Northern Mindanao and the municipality."

The resolution also accused the CPP-NPA of violating the International Humanitarian Law for conducting various attacks on civilians and non-combatant entities in Laguindingan.

Passed on August 28, the resolution was signed by Rosario Ang, MPOC head secretariat, and Mayor Diosdado Obsioma.

Maj. Regie Go, head of the Public Affairs Office of the Army's 4th Infantry Division, said Laguindingan's persona non-grata declaration against the CPP-NPA has brought to five the towns that have already manifested their rejection of the communist rebel movement.

Earlier, the towns of Opol, Manticao, El Salvador, and Alubujid also issued similar resolutions.

Go said several barangays in other Misamis Oriental towns have also tagged the CPP-NPA "persona non-grata."

Under the area of responsibility of the 4ID, Go said a total of 216 local governments units and barangays in parts of Northern Mindanao and Caraga regions have already expressed that the CPP-NPA "are not welcome in their places."

The CPP-NPA is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
