Agusan del Sur – The 544th Engineer Battalion, the lone Army Engineer in Caraga Region under the leadership of LtCol Rodel V Pangilinan the Battalion Commander provided significant efforts in sustaining the gains of 3rd Special Forces in their area of operations particularly in Km 9, Sitio Sumao-ao, Brgy. Diatagon Surigao del Sur through Community Outreach Program on September 08, 2019. The activity started from 8:00 o’clock in the morning up to 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

Four (4) Engineer Equipment were utilized to repair the roads for easy access of all participants and most of all to improve economic activity in the area.

Skilled personnel and heavy equipment’s from 544th Army Engineer such as barber, battalion medics, skilled in shoe/sandal repairs and heavy equipment operators served as augmentation among the services offered by the 3rd Special Forces Battalion headed by LtCol Baybayan the services delivered such as: Sub-grading & Crowning of their access road, free Medical & Dental services, distribution of vitamins and Medicines to the children, Free haircut, Free shoe repair and other services offered by local government unit of Diatagon, Surigao del Sur.

Gladness and excitement have seen before the faces of more or less 1,500 recipients of the services as well as their brgy officials and local populace while in lines waiting for the free services offered by the convergent agencies in the area.
