Bangsamoro government Chief Minister Al Haj Murad Ebrahim condemned Monday the “senseless act of terror” in Sulu where eight people died and scores wounded.

Murad said he was personally outraged by the supposed suicide bombing incident in Indanan, Sulu on June 28.

Sulu is part of the Bangsamoro Autnomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

“It was a senseless act of terror since the attack inflicted multiple casualties and injuries to innocent civilians. We condemn that act as contrary to the cherished human values such as the sanctity and protection of lives, properties and peaceful living,” Murad said in a statement.

As the Bangsamoro leader, he vowed to assist the law enforcement agencies in pursuing the perpetrators in the recent bombings and similar incident in Sulu in the past.

“I strongly urge the local leaders to be united in the fight against violent armed groups in their respective places,” said Murad, also chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

He also extended his sympathies to the families of those who died in the attack.

“We are one with them in the search for justice and an end to this kind of violence,” he said.
