The government has awarded P16.8-million housing project and services to a former New People’s Army (NPA)-infested barangay in Bukidnon, military said Sunday.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 10 turned over the 50 concrete and ready houses to the internally displaced persons, indigenous people, and former communist rebels from Barangay Iba in Cabangsalan.
Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar, Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for Northern Mindanao, and DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista graced the event held Friday, June 28.
Aside from the housing project, Serbisyo Caravan was also provided to the residents. The services include free medical/dental checkup and circumcisions, civil registration, Alternative Learning System and Scholarship Registration, and haircut, among others.
