The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has implemented a reshuffle of some of its key officials.

In a statement late Monday, Col. Noel Detoyato, AFP public affairs office chief, said AFP Deputy Chief-of-Staff for Logistics (J-4 in military parlance), Major Gen. Pio Diñoso III, was reassigned as head of the Samar-based 8th Infantry Division.
Diñoso will formally assume his new post on Friday, replacing Major Gen. Raul Farnacio.

Replacing Diñoso as AFP Deputy Chief-of-Staff for Logistics is Commodore Alberto Carlos, current head of the Naval Combat Engineering Brigade.

Also, Rear Admiral Jande Francisco, AFP Deputy Chief-of-Staff for Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems (CEIS), J-6 will relinquish his post to Brig. Gen. Adrian Sanchez, the assistant J-6, in an acting capacity pending the approval of a regular designation.

“The movement in the high leadership of the AFP is part of the dynamic nature of the military and signifies the culmination of our progressive military careers as we take on bigger and more challenging responsibilities,” said AFP chief, General Benjamin Madrigal Jr..

Aside from his previous post, Diñoso also served as commander of the 301st Infantry Brigade-based in Iloilo; Assistant Chief-of-Staff for Logistics, G-4 of the Philippine Army; and Deputy Chief AFP Resource Management Office.

He started his military career as platoon leader, company commander, and battalion intelligence officer in the 72nd Infantry Battalion deployed in the provinces of Bulacan, Quezon, Abra, and then Kalinga-Apayao.

Meanwhile, Francisco commanded the Naval Installation Command which is responsible for base management and support and sustainment services for the Philippine Navy.

He also served as Deputy Commander of the Naval Sea Systems Command; Director of Naval Resource Management Office; and Assistant Chief of Naval Staff for Weapons, Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems, N-6.

While his replacement, Sanchez, also served in similar posts in the Philippine Army; including as Commander of the Army Signal Regiment, Commander 1st Signal Battalion, Director of the Directorate for Technical Support in the Army Management Information Center, and Assistant Chief-of-Staff for CEIS in the 1st Infantry Division and the National Capital Region Command.
