ROXAS CITY, Capiz -- Peace and development czar in the Visayas has called on the soldiers to help in harmonizing peace, security and development agenda to end terrorism.

Presidential Adviser for the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd L. Dino, during his visit at the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division at Camp Gen. Macario Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz, June 17, sought the support of the military in realizing Executive Order No. 70 or the “National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict."

Dino said President Rodrigo Duterte has recently appointed him as one of the members of the Cabinet Officers in Regional Development for Security (CORDS) in the Visayas who is incharge to oversee peace and development efforts in the Visayas.

As CORDS members, he is also to assist the President in the speedy, efficient and orderly resolution of problems in so far as government operations are concerned, particularly to harmonize peace, security and development agenda in the region.


“The challenge to end insurgency now does not only involve the Armed Forces of the Philippines but espouses the whole of nation agenda in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace and security in the country,” Dino stressed.

With the framework for the 'whole-of-nation' approach to end terrorism, he urged everyone to work hand-in-hand with the local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations, civil society organizations and all other stakeholders in implementing the national government program.

Likewise, Dino thanked the Army for their continued service to the country and countrymen.

“You don’t only secure the land, but made us stand with pride as Filipinos. You defend our land against those enemies who want to overthrow the duly constituted authorities,” he said.

He added that President Duterte is also urging the troops to “do their jobs and at the same time make us proud Filipinos.”

Dino also called on them to continue to be the source of national pride of our Filipino nation. (LTP/JBG/PIA6-Capiz)
