Posted to the Western Mindanao Command (WESTMINCOM) Website (Apr 22, 2019): Military, org launch outreach program for indigenous people in Cotabato

Soldiers from 602nd Brigade and Team Jesus launched a medical and dental mission that benefitted 700 indigenous brothers and sisters in Cotabato City on April 17.

Military troops provided medical and dental services; performed circumcision procedures; and distributed school supplies, biscuits, hygiene kits, slippers, and arrozcaldo to indigenous people in Barangay Bentangan, Carmen, Cotabato last Wednesday.

The activity was a success and, with grateful hearts, the people of Bentangan sent the team away with their warmest smiles.

On April 18, the 602Bde and Team Jesus travelled to Midsayap, Cotabato to serve the residents of Barangay Arizona.

The team was privileged to serve 460 people with their medical, dental, circumcision, and haircut services. The team also distributed slippers, received hygiene kits, and school supplies.

Despite the extreme heat, the event was a success. Residents of Barangay Arizona came home fulfilled and satisfied.

“Your soldiers continue to support any initiatives that put primacy on the well-being of the people, especially the underprivileged. We continue to work alongside our partners to help the people of Mindanao, not only in terms of security but also in terms of socio-economic advancement,” said Lieutenant General Arnel Dela Vega, Western Mindanao Command chief.
