Reds kill 2 civilians

From the Visayan Daily Star (Mar 29, 2019): Reds kill 2 civilians

Suspected New People’s Army rebels shot and killed two civilians in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, and Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, this week, the police said yesterday.

A laborer identified as Joselido Ramirez, 53, succumbed to 15 gunshot wounds after he was shot and killed on Wednesday by three suspected NPA rebels in Sitio Agogolo, Brgy. Macagahay, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

Police Capt.Junji Liba, Moises Padilla police chief, yesterday said that Ramirez and his two companions, including his son, Marvin, were on their way home, when they were waylaid by three armed suspects, who introduced themselves as NPA members.

With no reason at all, the three NPA members, who were armed with .45 caliber pistols, simultaneously opened fire at Ramirez , who died, on the spot.

But Marvin and his uncle, whose identity was not available yesterday, were spared from harm by the rebels, Liba said

Several empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol were recovered at the crime scene.

The NPA Leonardo Panaligan Command also issued a statement yesterday claiming responsibility for the death of a certain Lusing Ibarle on March 26 in Sitio Bongao, Brgy. Trinidad, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.

Rebel spokesman Ka JB Regalado alleged that Ibarle is facing murder charges and others complaints before the revolutionary court.
