On behalf of the soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, I welcome MILF Chair Al-Hajj Murad Ibrahim and his party to our Headquarters here in Camp Aguinaldo....
This reciprocal visit of Al-Hajj Murad signifies the strong trust and confidence of the MILF leadership on the Armed Forces and the national government, and same thing with our trust and confidence to the leadership of the MILF.
Last July, MILF vice chairman Ghazali Jaafar and BIAF chief of staff Sammy Al Mansour and colleagues at the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) set foot in Camp Aguinaldo to convey their commitment towards the peaceful resolution of all conflict in the Bangsamoro Region.
On 06 October, we paid a visit to MILF Camp Darapanan in Sultan Kudarat, and we declared that the war is over between the AFP and the MILF.
I was much honored when around 6,000 men and women of the MILF lined up together in the 5 kilometer road from Cotabato City to Simuay to welcome us. That was the longest foyer honors I have received from any camp.
The visits done by AFP and MILF manifest the strong mutual desire of both party towards just and lasting peace for the Bangsamoro Region.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines, being a dynamic organization will keep changing leadership, but rest assured that it will continue to support the peace process with the MILF. And I have always said that for the rest of my life, I will always dedicate my services for peaceful resolution of all conflicts in Mindanao, particularly the Bangsamoro.
