CAMP GONZALO SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao (DWDD) – The 6th Infantry “KAmpilan” Division continued to launch military operation against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) at dawn of October 7, 2018 in Brgy Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
While the troops of Alpha Company of 40th Infantry Battalion were conducting combat clearing operation in Barangay Tukanalipao, encountered more or less twenty fully armed men of BIFF, which lasted for almost fifteen minutes.
Assorted firearms were seized during the conduct of clearing operations.
The recovery of two M14 rifles, two Garrand rifles, one M16 and an undetermined number of casualties from the bandits was a result of information received from the civilian residents in the area.
The successful operation was a product of the focused and intensified military operations against the local terror groups in Central Mindanao, Major General Cirilito E. Sobejana, said.
