CAMP GEN MACARIO B PERALTA JR, Jamindan, Capiz (DWDD) – The Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry “Spearhead” Division cautions public to be more vigilant following the recovery of bomb-making materials belonged to the CPP-NPA Terrorist in an abandoned nipa hut in Barangay Putian, Cuartero, Capiz on June 9, 2018.



Aside from the bomb-making materials, troops of 61st IB also recovered 13 backpacks containing personal belongings, medical kit, NPA flag and subversive documents with high intelligence value.

This Command believes that these terrorists have been making landmines to attack not only the soldiers but also the helpless civilians who embrace a peaceful way of life and refused to support a violent and bloody armed-struggle. The use of landmines, was a clear violation of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Convention banning the use of the explosive devices where the Philippines is one of the signatories

This is yet another proof that the CPP-NPA terrorists are anti-people, anti-peace and anti-development cold-blooded criminals who irreverently cast economic sabotage, destruction and killings of innocent civilians.

Troops of 61IB are currently conducting a Community Support Program in the said area in collaboration with the local government units and stakeholders, but the CPP-NPA Terrorist is trying to hinder these peace and development efforts of the government where, the direct beneficiaries are the local populace who are longing for sustainable progress.

In this regard, we are calling the people to continue supporting and cooperating with your Army and PNP and report the presence and activities of the CPP-NPA terrorists in your area to prevent them from staging attacks. We are also calling the CPP-NPAs to lay down your arms and abandon the senseless and failed armed-struggle and return to the folds of the government.
