CAMP GONZALO SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao (DWDD) – The 6th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army welcomed the 370 new breed of soldiers who completed their training last Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 6th Division Training School in Brgy Semba, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

 

The 285 new soldiers belonged to Class 457-2017 “Masilag” and the other 85 are members of Class 481-2017 “Kamandag” who belonged to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) group to be deployed at 10th Infantry Division based in Davao Province.

The graduates took oath last October 14, 2017 and underwent 4-month training on Basic Military Training and Jungle Warfare Mountain Operations Course.

603rd Brigade Commander Brig Gen Jesus B. Sarsagat, the guest of honor and speaker, congratulated the new soldiers for finishing their purposive training that taught them to survive the challenges ahead of their military careers.

 

Maj Gen Arnel B. Dela Vega, Commander of 6th Infantry Division, urged the graduates to instill discipline and respect for authority all throughout their military life as these are essentially important in the life of a soldier.

The group came from the different municipalities in the provinces of Mindanao who had undergone complete screening and pre-entry process since last year. They were all natural-born Filipino citizens, at least 18-26 years old, college graduate or with at least 72 units in college or with any certification of vocational courses, at least 5 feet tall, single without a child, and of good moral character. 6DPAO / MCAG
