NAVAL STATION ERNESTO OGBINAR, Poro Point, in San Fernando, La Union (DWDD) – The Naval Installation Command Celebrates their 2nd Founding Anniversary.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Expanding to Reach and Serve the Forces.”

Naval Station Ernesto Ogbinar was awarded as NIC STATION OF THE YEAR. It was received by the Commanding Officer NSEO Navy Capt Rolando Sarmiento PN(GSC).

It was previously a U.S. installation known as Wallace Air Station; transfer of ownership took place in 1991. The facility was formally turned-over by the United States to the Republic of the Philippines on 16 September 1991. It became the headquarters of the Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NAVFORNOL) of the Philippine Navy called Poro Point Naval Station. It was later renamed to Naval Station Ernesto Ogbinar after the former Navy chief. NPAO / MCAG
