From Update Philippines (Sep 1): Chinese firm is lowest bidder in body armor acquisition for PH army

Red Dot Imaging Philippines-Hunan Zhongtai China was declared the lowest bidder for the acquisition of 37,774 units of Force Protection Equipment, body armor, for Philippine Army during the Submission and Opening of Bid Envelopes conducted at the Department of Budget Management (DBM) on August 31, MaxDefense Philippines said.

Red Dot Imaging-Hunan Zhongtai’s offer of PHP691,696,544 or PHP18,326 per unit was declared lowest bid.

The above mentioned bidder was followed by Triton & Beijing with PHP812,141,000 offer, China Xingding & Goldbell with PHP847,918,960, and Mars Armor (Bulgaria) with PHP1,234,983,680, MaxDefense added.

Meanwhile, China Xingxing Import & Export, Nashe & Nurol Turkey, Kolon Global (Korea), Fort Bo & Kyung Chang Industry & DK Armor, and Source Vagabond System (Israel) did not qualify for the bidding.

Budget for this acquisition project was sourced from the supposed to be Shore Based Missile System (SBMS) acquisition project in Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program First Horizon.
