Scalawag cops who failed to appear in Malacanang face additional case

From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 8): Scalawag cops who failed to appear in Malacanang face additional case

The police scalawags who did not report in Camp Crame on Tuesday when they were summoned by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa to personally present them to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte are facing additional administrative charges.

PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief and spokesman Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos said to be charged with additional complaint are those police scalawags who reported in Camp Crame but did not report in Malacanang when they were supposed to be presented to the President.

In the actual number during the presentation of the police scalawags in Camp Crame, a total of 264 was recorded to have reported to the PNP chief on Tuesday.

However, when they were presented in Malacanang, only 228 policemen reported to President Duterte.

In the list submitted by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Camp Crame, there is a total of 378 policemen who were supposed to report to the PNP chief, excluding the 9 policemen who are detained as they are facing criminal charges.

Carlos, however, said the policemen who failed to report yesterday because they attended a court hearing and for other valid reasons, are “excused” from the additional charges.
