From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 8): 315 new privates join roster of Maguindanao-based 6th ID
As the government intensifies its campaign against terror and insurgency threats, around 315 brand-new privates formally joined the ranks of the Maguindanao-based 6th Infantry Division.
These troopers have graduated from the nine-month Candidate Soldiers Course last Feb. 4 at the 6th Division Training School in Barangay Semba, Datu Odin Sinsuat town, unit spokesperson Capt. Arvin Encinas said Wednesday.
He added these new soldiers are members of Candidate Soldiers Class 416-2017 and Class 417-2017.
All of them underwent a rigid Basic Military Training and Jungle Warfare Mountain Operations Course as well as trainings on war fighting competency, disaster response and rescue operations, explosive ordnance and reconnaissance agent, water search and rescue, among others, Encinas stressed.
After months of rigid training, the new soldiers will be assigned to the different battalions of 6th Infantry Division to boost the peace and development efforts of the command in Central Mindanao.
