CAMP GUILLERMO NAKAR, Lucena City (DWDD) – Colonel Antonio G. Parlade, Jr assumed command of the Mindoro-based 203rd Infantry (Bantay Kapayapaan) Brigade morning of June 8, 2016 in a simple Change of Command Ceremony at HQS 203rd Infantry Brigade in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro presided by 2ID Commander Major General Romeo G. Gan.
Colonel Parlade replaced Colonel Gavin D. Edjawan who is climbing the ladder in the military leadership as incoming Assistant 9th Infantry Division Commander in Bicol Region.
Prior to his new command position, Colonel Parlade was the Executive Officer of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, J3. He was also the former Army Spokesperson in 2011. He graduated at the Philippine Military Academy in 1987.
Also present during the ceremony were Occidental Mindoro Board Member Hon Ulysses Javier; Executive Assistant of Occidental Mindoro Governor Dr. Romeo G. Infantado; and Police Region 4-B Deputy Regional Commander PSSupt Ramon C. Apolinario.
“Upon assuming command of the Brigade early last year, I lived up to the guidance of my commander, General Gan, thank you sir. And I wouldn’t able to accomplish so much without the support of the officers and men of 203rd Infantry Brigade and its OPCON units,” said Colonel Edjawan during his relinquishment of command speech.
