4 soldiers wounded in Maguindanao bombing

From the Mindanao Examiner (Jun 7): 4 soldiers wounded in Maguindanao bombing

At least four army soldiers were wounded in a roadside bomb explosion that hit a military truck on Tuesday in the war-torn province of Maguindanao in the Muslim autonomous region in southern Philippines, reports said.

It said the truck was travelling in the town of Datu Unsay when the improvised explosive went off.

No individual or group claimed responsibility for the attack, but the town is a known stronghold of the Ampatuan clan whose members had been accused of brutally murdering over 50 people, including journalists who were covering a political caravan in the province.

The 6th Infantry Division did not release any statement, but the military is likely to blamed rebel groups for the daring attack.

The governor of Maguindanao, Esmael Mangudadatu, did not give any statement either, as in the past attacks in the province.
