From InterAksyon (May 19): Kidnap victim released in Zamboanga City
Reports reaching Manila indicated that a 21-year-old kidnap victim released Tuesday by his kidnappers reunited with his family the next day in Zamboanga City.
According to a military official who spoke on condition of anonymity, the victim was identified as Rian Tan Nunez.
"The victim's family requested for privacy. They asked that the release not be publicized because his grandfather is still held captive" the official said.
It was not clear if ransom was paid to the kidnappers.
The younger Nuñez was released at around 6 p.m. Tuesday, in the vicinity of Cawa-Cawa Boulevard, and reunited with his family Wednesday night in Barangay Lapuyan.
He and his grandfather, who, the military official did not identify, were brought to Sulu after they were abducted.
"They were kept in the lair of Abu Sayyaf Group sub-leader Alhabsy Misaya in Sulu. The elder Tan was separated by their captors from his grandson, and they never saw each other again," the military official said.
