From Update.Ph (May 6): DND to acquire 189 metric tons of propellant powder

The Department of National Defense is acquiring 189 metric tons or an equivalent of three years supply of propellant powder worth PHP209 million.

This will be sourced from the General Appropriate Act Fiscal Year 2016 and Multi-Year Obligational Authority for Fiscal Year 2015.

The above-mentioned material fill the interior of an ammunition cartridge or the chamber of a gun or cannon, leading to the expulsion of a bullet or shell.

First delivery is for 63 metric tons is scheduled this 2016. Contract for this is worth PHP67,095,000.

Winning bidders are required to deliver the propellant powder within 120 days of Notice To Proceed (NTP).

Another 63 metric tons of propellant powder is scheduled to be delivered for Calendar Year 2017. Contract price is PHP69,778,800. Delivery must not be later than Jan. 31, 2017.

Interested bidders must have completed a similar project or contract within the last five years.

Pre-bid conference is slated this May 17, 10 a.m. at the DND-Bids and Awards Committee Conference Room, Basement, Left Wing, DND Building, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Bid opening is on May 31, 10 a.m. on the same venue.
