2 hurt in Sulu grenade attack

From the Philippine News Agency (Mar 10): 2 hurt in Sulu grenade attack

Two persons were wounded as still unidentified suspects hurled a fragmentation grenade in a residential compound in Jolo, Sulu province Wednesday night.

The explosion took place at 7:50 p.m. at the Tigbao and Tan residential compound in Barangay Asturias, said Joint Task Group Sulu commander Brig. Gen. Alan Arrojado.

The two bystanders, identified as Abdel Asiri and a certain Kairan, were wounded by shrapnel and immediately taken to Integrated Provincial Health Office in Jolo for treatment.

Recovered from the scene was a grenade safety lever. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the motive for the attack.
