From ABS-CBN (Jan 14): Photo: Anti-EDCA activists burn US flag

Activists burn a U.S. flag during a protest against the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) outside the U.S. Embassy in Manila, Philippines, on Thursday. The Supreme Court recently declared the agreement, which would allow the United States to use some of the country’s military facilities, constitutional.

  1. Just the usual commie suspects doing their required anti-US/US military protest activities in the wake of the Philippine Supreme Court decision declaring the RP-US Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) constitution. The commies oppose any US military presence in the Philippines.

Placards indicate that at least one Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) front group actively participated in the protest action. GABRIELA (General Assembly Binding Women for Reform, Integrity, Equality, Leadership and Action), a sectoral front group focused on women's issues and a member of the main CPP umbrella front organization BAYAN (Bagong Alyansang Makabayan-New Patriotic Alliance) participated in the anti-US demonstrations. There is also a political spin-off from the GABRIELA sectoral front called the Gabriela Women's Party (GWP).
