Retired Army colonel shot dead in Davao

From ABS-CBN (Dec 3): Retired Army colonel shot dead in Davao

A barangay chairman was found dead with multiple gun shot wounds in Calinan District, Davao City on Thursday morning.

The victim was identified as Antonio Albaran Jr., chairman of Barangay Dominga.

According to resident Flordeliza Estocado, they heard several gun shots at around 4:00 in the morning.

At dawn, the lifeless body of Albaran was found at Purok 5, Sitio Quibaton.

The victim's face was almost unrecognizable due to the severity of gun shots.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) found 16 empty bullets of M16 and M14 rifle as well as of .45 caliber pistol.

The police are still conducting an investigation on the possible motive and identity of the suspect.

Albaran was a retired Army colonel and was serving his first term as a barangay chairman.
