From the Philippine Information Agency (Dec 7): PhP17.8 M PAMANA aid handed to MNLF coops
Some PhP17.8 million worth of livelihood grants were recently turned over to Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) communities through the PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn (PAMANA) Program.
These PAMANA assistance in the form of livestock, farm machineries and others were facilitated by the Department of Agriculture - Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DA-ARMM).
At the latest turn over ceremony on Friday, December 3, ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman, DA Regional Secretary Atty. Laisa Masuhud-Alamia and Finance Director Alexander G. Alonto led the distribution of livestock aid to six cooperatives in Maguindanao province.
DA-ARMM PAMANA focal person Engr. Guiomla Satol disclosed that last Friday, 8 cows were handed to NBC Bangsamoro Marketing Cooperative of Paglat town, 10 cows to Tagie Farmers and Fisherfolks Marketing Cooperative of Buluan, and 20 cows to Camp Kamlon Farmers Producers Cooperative of Sultan Mastura.
Meanwhile, Bulod Bangsamoro Community Marketing Cooperative in Datu Paglas town was also given 5 carabaos.
Goats were also distributed to Maitumaig Farmers Marketing Cooperative (20 heads) and Camp Safaruddin Womens Auxilliary Unit in Taviran town (230 heads).
The 38 cattle, 15 carabaos and 250 goats amounted to PhP2.34 million.
Prior to this, DA ARMM had held several awarding ceremonies of PAMANA livelihood aids.
These included PhP2.1 M worth of machineries on November 19 at the opening ceremonies of ARMM Anniversary, PhP 4.13 M worth of farm machineries on November 26, and PhP1.65 M worth of farm animals on November 27.
Six MNLF cooperatives were also given P2.24 M worth of livestock assistance on December 1.
Eleven MNLF coops also received six-wheeler hauler trucks with a combined value of P5.35 M two days after.
According to DA-ARMM some 22 MNLF cooperatives, 16 in Maguindanao and 8 in Sulu Province have benefited in the latest PAMANA project assistance. These aids amounted to PhP17.805 M in total.
PAMANA is a national government initiative that grants development aids to isolated, hard-to-reach and conflict-affected communities.
