The Philippine Navy (PN) is calling on for entries to the photo contest in support of the transformation programs of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in fulfilling its mandate to protect the Filipino people and the state.

With the theme “Strong and Credible Navy,” the photo contest aims to capture and preserve images of the PN’s transformation, peace and development programs which are consistent with that of AFP’s in achieving PN’s vision of becoming a “Strong and Credible Navy” that our Maritime Nation can be proud of.

The contest is open to all interested photographers, professional or amateur, civilian or military. Photos must be taken between January 1, 2013 up to November 29, 2015.

Each participant may submit a maximum of five entries and should be unpublished original works and not have won or entered into any international or local competitions in the last three years. Each entry must have a corresponding entry.

Photo entries must be in digital format, JPEG and minimum of 300 dpi. Minor burning (i.e. to darken highlights, dodging and/or color correction) is acceptable. Photos with severe alteration will not be accepted.

The entries must not contain obscene, proactive, defamatory, sexually explicit or inappropriate content.

The first place winner will receive P30,000 cash prize, trophy and certificate. The grand prize entry will also automatically qualify for the Photo of the Year category.

The second and third place winners will also receive a cash prize of P15,000 and 5,000, respectively and certificate.

Meanwhile, the Best AFP@80 Photo Award will receive a cash prize of P50,000, trophy and a certificate.

The deadline of submission of entries is on November 30, 2015.

The photo contest is part of the 80th anniversary celebration of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
