From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 9): PAF looking for suppliers of C-130 propulsion system spares

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) is now looking for suppliers who can deliver spare parts needed for the maintenance of the propulsion system of one its three Lockheed C-130B/H "Hercules" cargo aircraft.

Approved budget for the contract is Php9,307,117.

Pre-bid conference is on Nov. 10, 2 p.m. at the PAPAF Procurement Center Conference Room, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City while bid opening and submission is on Nov. 24, 9 a.m. at the same venue.

The C-130 is designed to provide significant airlift capabilities, even to remote under-developed airfields.

This remarkable aircraft proved to be a critical lifesaving tool in the aftermath of Supertyphoon "Yolanda", moving large numbers of people and humanitarian relief supplies in the affected areas.
