Two suspeected New People's Army (NPA) extortionists were
arrested during entrapment operations conducted by government security troops
in Panabo City , Davao Del Norte Saturday
afternoon.
Capt. Rhyan Batchar, 10th Infantry Division public affairs
office chief, said the arrest took place 1 p.m. at Tibulao Terminal, Barangay
New Pandan, Panabo
City .
Troopers from the 69th Infantry Battalion and the Panabo
City Police Office joint forces in the operation.
Arrested were Gary Francisco Bayoang, 25, married and
resident of Lower Pandaitan, Paquibato District, Davao
City and Daniel Francisco Bayoang, 19,
single, resident of Purok 3, Lemonsito, Barangay New Visayas, Panabo City .
The pair demanded Php20,000, three sacks of rice, medicines
and three .45 caliber pistols from their victim whose identity is being
withheld for security reasons.
The two were brought to Panabo City Police Station for
further investigation and filing of appropriate charges against them.
