PNP files charges vs soldier for firing gun inside Davao hospital

From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 14): PNP files charges vs soldier for firing gun inside Davao hospital

Police authorities here submitted to the City Prosecution Office (CPO) Monday the criminal charges against a member of the Army’s 84th Infantry Battalion for firing his firearm inside a hospital last week.

Private First Class (PFC) Richard Dalion, assigned at 84th IB based in Malagos, Calinan District, Davao City, was charged of illegal discharge of firearm after he allegedly fired his .45 caliber pistol inside the Isaac T. Robillo Memorial Hospital in Calinan, where he was confined.

Police investigation showed that a heated altercation happened between Dalion and his wife inside the hospital last September 8.

At the height of their argument, the soldier pulled out his .45 caliber pistol and fired it, breaking a hospital window.

Hospital personnel sought police assistance but the soldier was later released from detention by Calinan police after no complainant surfaced to file a complaint against the suspect within 18 hours.
