From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 14): NPA arms, equipment cache seized in Davao Del Sur

Patrolling elements of the 39th Infantry Battalion have recovered abandoned rebel equipment consisting of weapons, communication equipment and clothing during operations in Matanao town, Davao Del Sur Sunday.

Capt. Alberto Caber, Eastern Mindanao Command public affairs office chief, said this took place 4:05 p.m. in Sitio Datalpitak, Barangay Colonsabak, Matanao town.

Recovered were a M-16 automatic rifle with magazine and ammunition, a .30 caliber Springfield rifle and ammunition, one four-liter power MAC gasoline generator, one ICOM VHF transceiver and receiver with batteries, subversive documents, assorted clothing including one PNP SAF uniform.

Caber said that concerned residents reported the location of this cache to soldiers.
