In line with its career and leadership development program,
the Philippine Army (PA) announced that three of its senior commanders will be
assigned to new posts this year.
First is Bicol-based 901st Infantry Brigade commander Col.
Raul M. Farnacio who is now appointed to head the Army Internal Auditor
effective Sept. 30.
The former replaces Brig. Gen. Dario Quindoza who is
scheduled to retire after reaching the military compulsory age of 56, also on
the above-mentioned date.
Farnacio, a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA)
Class of 1985, also served as the Chief of Unified Command Staff, Central
Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Quindoza, on the other hand, has served the AFP for 36 years
wherein he held significant and key positions.
He was the Commandant of the Army Candidate
Soldier School ,
Training and Doctrine Command and also served in TRADOC in different
capacities.
Quindoza also served as Executive Officer of the 1001
Brigade, 10th Infantry Division; and commanded the 72nd Infantry Battalion, 4th
Infantry Division.
Another change of office ceremony for the Army Personnel
Management Center (APMC) will also take place on Sept. 30.
Col. Rufino G. Ramoran Jr. will assume as the new Commanding
Officer of the APMC, replacing Col. Claudio L. Yucot, who is tasked to lead the
Army's 901st Infantry Brigade in Bicol.
Prior to his new position as head of the APMC, Ramoran was
the chief of the Promotion Division, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for
Personnel, OJ1, GHQ, AFP. Ramoran, a member of PMA Class of 1989, was also the
former Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, C3 of the AFP Command and
General Staff College.
Yucot, on the other hand, headed the APMC for two years. He
also served as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, OG1,
Philippine Army, and Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, G1, 9th Infantry
Division. He is a member of PMA Class of 1986.
Another member of the PMA Class of 1989 who is a former
battalion commander of an Army unit in Mindanao was designated as the new group
commander of the National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group
(NCRRCDG), Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) last Sept. 16.
Col. Joshua B. Santiago replaced Col. Corleto S. Vinluan in
a change of command ceremony presided by Brig. Gen. Paolo Leo Ma. Miciano, the
Commander of ARESCOM.
Concurrent with his present position, Santiago
is also the Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for
Education and Training, OG8, ARESCOM and the Director of the 402nd Community Defense Center ,
4th Regional Community Defense Group.
Prior to his designation, Santiago was the Assistant Chief of Staff for
Intelligence, G2, ARESCOM from August 6, 2012 to September 2015.
From 2007 to 2012, Santiago
served in Mindanao , particularly in the 10th
Infantry Division, as acting commander of the 72nd Infantry Battalion, and
Commander of the Division Training Unit.
He later on commanded the 27th Infantry Battalion for two
years, and served as Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, OG2, 10ID.
On the other hand, Vinluan, who headed NCRRCDG for three
years, assumed as the Deputy Brigade Commander of the 803rd Infantry Brigade,
8th Infantry Division in Leyte .
