Government security forces are pursuing a suspected rebel
band who torched two heavy road-building equipment at the Davao-General Santos Road
The military said the incident took place at 9 p.m.
Gutted were a road grader and a pile hammer machine which
were being used to widen the Sta. Cruz portion of the road.
Members of the rebels' Southern Mindanao Regional Command,
which is known to operate in the area, are being tagged for the arson attack which
is believed to be extortion-related.
