From GMA News (Jun 17): Civilian killed in crossfire as NPA guerrillas harass govt outpost in Camarines Norte

A civilian was killed after being caught in a crossfire between government troops and communist New People's Army rebels in Camarines Norte last Tuesday.

The rebels attacked the military detachment of the Army's 22nd Infantry Battalion's Delta Company, GMA News correspondent Peewee Bacuño reported.

Killed in the crossfire was one Mandy Lauce, 60, an employee at Capalonga College
.
Lauce was rushed to Capalonga Medicare Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Citing initial police reports, Bacuño said the rebels attacked at about 9:25 a.m. in Sitio Calimuog in Capalonga town.

The rebels eventually withdrew after the exchange of fire.
