From Ang Malaya (Mar 15): Iqbal: We travel using Philippine passports
Moro Islamic Liberation Front chief negotiator Mohagher Iqbal brushes off the allegation that he and MILF chairman Al Haj Ebrahim Murad are travelling with Malayasian passports. “I own a Philippine passport,” Iqbal told GMA News Online in a phone interview.
Iqbal added that MILF chairman also uses a Philippine passport. “Kaya nga walang katotohanan ‘yung mga nagsasabing may Malaysian passport kami.”
Former Secretary Rafael Alunan III posted on his social networking account that he received an information that the two MILF leaders are travelling with Malaysian passports.
The allegation prompted Davao City Representative Karlo Alexei Nograles to ask the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on Bangsamoro Basic Law to call on Bureau of Immigration and subpoena all travel documents of Al Haj Murad Ebrahim and Mohaquer Iqbal to shed light on the issue.
“This is a very serious allegation and must be investigated immediately, even before we continue deliberations on the BBL,” Representative Nograles said.
