The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday is standing pat on its claim that there were no security threats during Pope Francis' recently concluded visit last Jan. 15 to 19.
Col. Restituto Padilla, AFP spokesman, made the statement on
Friday after reports came out claiming that military intelligence detected an
ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria )
plot against the Pontiff.
He said their security evaluations have not uncovered any
evidence of such when completing their preparations for Pope Francis arrival.
"We were unable to confirm that information,"
Padilla said in Filipino.
