401st Infantry Brigade gets new commanding officer

From the Philippine News Agency (Jan 24): 401st Infantry Brigade gets new commanding officer

The Agusan Del Sur-based 401st Infantry Brigade has a new commanding officer in the person of Col. Alexander L. Macario.

Macario replaces Brig. Gen. Gregory M. Cayetano who was appointed as deputy chief of staff for education and training, J-8, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Change-of-command ceremony was presided by 4th Infantry Division commander Major Gen. Oscar T. Lactao.

Macario is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sandiwa” Class of 1985.

He held various key positions in the Army Special Operations Command including as 4th Infantry Division's inspector general.

He is a well decorated Army officer who received various military awards for excellence in combat and administration, letters and plaques of commendation and appreciation from different military units and civilian sectors.

Macario vowed to do his job and continue what his predecessor has done. He also encouraged the soldiers of the 401st Brigade to continue to work as a team so that peace and sustainable development in CARAGA region will be attained.
