From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 17): 9 soldiers injured in Zamboanga Sibugay road mishap

Nine soldiers were injured when the truck they were riding fell into a ravine in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Wednesday.

Senior Supt. Roberto Roy Bahian, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said that the incident took place around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay Gandiangan, Imelda municipality.

Bahian said the soldiers were traveling aboard a military truck driven by Sergeant Lito Servin Jr. to Zamboanga City coming from Carmen, North Cotabato when the vehicle fell into a ravine after the driver lost control of the steering wheel while negotiating a curved road.

Servin and his companions, whose identities were not immediately available, belong to the Army’s 7th Field Artillery Battalion (FAB) based in Carmen, North Cotabato.

They were rushed to Amoroso medical clinic in Imelda town for treatment.
