From Tempo (Nov 26): Trader shot dead in Butuan
CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City -- Armed men identifying themselves as members of the New People’s Army (NPA) shot dead a businessman at his meat store in Barangay Tungao, this city, police reported yesterday.
Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) said the victim, Raul E. Abian, 43, was manning his meat store at about 5:50 p.m., Sunday, at Purok 18, Barangay Tungao, this city, when four gunmen arrived and shot the victim to death.
The suspects then allegedly shouted in vernacular “Walay labot ang civilian. Mga NPA ni. Daku ni sala sa Tungao” (Civilians are not part of this. We are NPA. He committed a big sin in Tungao).
According to BCPO Station 5 report, the victim sustained nine gunshot wounds in the head and different parts of his body.
Police recovered from the crime scene seven spent shells from .45-caliber and 9mm pistols.
