From the Manila Bulletin (Nov 28): CAFGU man shot dead in Agusan del Norte town
A member of Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) was shot to death inside his residence by three unidentified gunmen at Purok 3, Barangay E. Beltran, in Jabonga town, Agusan del Norte province, police reported yesterday.
Police, identified the victim as Felizardo D. Moncano, 43, CAFGU member assigned at Baleguian Patrol Base in Jabonga town of that same province.
The victim was riddled with three gunshot wounds to his body and head.
The incident happened at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Initial investigation conducted by the Jabonga Municipal Police Station (MPS) stated that the suspects forcibly entered into the house and shot the victim at close range.
However, the victim managed to jump outside the window and tried to escape. But he was chased by his assailants and shot anew, this time hitting his head.
Sensing that the victim was already dead, the suspects fled towards the mountainous area of E. Beltran of that same town, police report said.
The Municipal Health Officer in Jabonga town pronounced the victim dead due to multiple gunshot wounds, using undetermined hand guns.
