From the Philippine Information Agency (Sep 19): Army, Kiwanis, Langilan tribe hold medical, dental mission in Kapalong
As part of the Peace and Development Outreach Program (PDOP), the military, together with a civic organization and tribal leaders, conducted yesterday (September 18) Medical and Dental Mission in Kapalong.
The 1003rd Infantry Brigade, 60th Infantry Battalion, Kiwanis Golden Club of Tagum and the Langilan tribe provided yesterday medical and dental service the 400 residents of Sitio Kapatagan, Brgy. Gupitan, Kapalong.
Aside from the medical and dental services, the children also received new pair of slippers and school supplies.
Capt. Jose Napoleon Gamos, information officer of the 1003rd brigade, revealed that during the mission, some of the residents expressed their issues and concerns to their commander, Col. Harold Cabreros.
Capt. Gamos said that the residents requested water system, seedlings and farm to market roads.
“Col. Cabreros tasked the unit (60th IB) to follow up the concerns of the residents,” he added.
In a text message, Capt. Gamos said that LTC Roberto Bunagan, battalion commander of 60th IB, confirmed that immediately after the mandate, they gave requests and communication letters to the appropriate government agencies.
